Plain terms for buying from a one-person tannery. Last updated July 2026.
The essentials
Smolten Leather sells wild salmon leather and finished goods from the Côte-Nord, Québec, Canada. Prices are in Canadian dollars. Applicable GST/QST or HST is added at checkout for Canadian deliveries; exports are shipped zero-rated and any import duties or taxes at destination are the buyer's responsibility.
Payment is processed by Stripe. Your order is confirmed when payment succeeds; until then, one-of-a-kind pieces are only briefly reserved and may return to sale if payment is not completed.
Each numbered skin is unique. Photographs are faithful, but leather is a natural material: scale pattern, tone, and small marks vary — that variance is the product, not a defect.
These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and of Canada. Nothing in them limits the warranties and remedies consumers hold under Québec's Consumer Protection Act.
If something is wrong
If a piece arrives damaged or isn't what you ordered, write to [email protected] within 7 days of delivery with photos and we will make it right — replacement where possible, refund where not. Returns for change of mind are covered in Shipping & Returns.
